XAT exam is the second most popular management entrance examination in India after CAT. XAT exam is conducted by XLRI on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes. This year, XAT will be conducted on 5 Jan 2025.
Apart from XLRI, the XAT exam scores are used by more than 250 institutes across India. XAT score is one of the selection criteria for admission into management programmes offered by XLRI. Candidates have to first register online on the XAT exam website and later apply separately to each of the participating institutes, including XLRI.

XAT 2025 Details
The XAT exam is scheduled for January 5, 2025.
Here are some key details about the XAT 2025 exam:
XAT Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have a recognized Bachelor's degree of at least three years or an equivalent qualification in any field. Those expecting to complete their final exams by June 10, 2025, are also eligible to apply. All Indian candidates must sit for XAT 2025, while NRI and foreign candidates can apply using their GMAT scores.
XAT Application Fee:
- XAT Registration Fee (without late fee) – ₹2200
- Additional fee of ₹200 for candidates interested in XLRI programs.
- Indian candidates can apply for PGDM (GM) through GMAT/GRE; NRI/Foreign nationals can use GMAT for all programs. Note that GRE scores are valid only for PGDM (GM).
- Fee for Indian candidates applying for PGDM (GM) via GMAT/GRE – ₹2500
- Fee for NRI/Foreign candidates applying through GMAT – ₹5000
XAT Important Dates:
- XAT 2025 Registration Begins: July 15, 2024
- XAT 2025 Registration Ends: November 30, 2024
- XAT 2025 Exam: January 5, 2025

- The General Knowledge score will be used by XLRI Jamshedpur in its final selection process.
