Frequently Asked Questions

To be eligible under the TISS selection criteria 2026, you must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a UGC-recognised university. For MA ODCL, you additionally need a minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience after graduation. Final-year students can also apply, but admission is confirmed only on degree completion.
For MA HRM & LR and MA ODCL: a Bachelor's or Master's degree of 3 or 4 years from a UGC-recognised university. For MHA: a Bachelor's degree of at least 3 years in any discipline, or a 4-year degree in medicine, pharmacy, engineering, or law.
Social work and similar programmes at TISS use CUET PG 2026 scores, not CAT. The TISS selection criteria for these programmes are CUET-based. Visit the official TISS admissions portal, select your programme, fill in your CUET PG registration details, and submit the application along with the required documents and fee.
TISS does not conduct its own entrance exam. As per the TISS admission criteria, you must appear in CAT 2025 (for HRM, ODCL, MHA) or CUET PG 2026 (for other programmes). After your exam, apply through the TISS admissions portal at admissions.tiss.edu with your exam registration number.
TISS accepts CAT 2025 scores for MA HRM & LR, MA ODCL, and MHA programmes. For all other postgraduate programmes, TISS accepts CUET PG 2026 scores.
To get selected in TISS, follow the TISS selection process: first clear the CAT cutoff for your category, then get shortlisted for the Online Assessment (OA) stage, and finally perform well in the Online Personal Interview (OPI). For MA HRM & LR and ODCL, the OPI carries 30% weight in the final TISS merit list. Consistent preparation in CAT Verbal, DILR, and Quant sections, along with good interview preparation, is the best approach.
The TISS cutoff for MBA varies by category. For General category candidates: you need a minimum of 60 percentile in each section (VARC, DILR, QA) and an overall score of at least 70 percentile. For NC-OBC: 54 in each section and 63 overall. For SC/ST: 45 in each section and 53 overall. These are the minimum cutoffs under TISS selection criteria — actual shortlisting may require higher scores based on competition.
CUET PG score requirements under the TISS selection criteria vary by programme and category. TISS releases specific CUET score cutoffs along with admission notifications each year. Check the official TISS website for programme-specific CUET PG cutoffs for 2026.
The TISS selection criteria for CAT-based programmes are: clear the TISS cutoff for MBA, get shortlisted for OA based on CAT score and diversity weightage, clear the Online Assessment, appear for the Online Personal Interview, and secure a rank in the TISS merit list based on the final weightage formula (70% CAT + 30% OPI for HRM/ODCL; 80% CAT + 10% ERT + 10% OPI for MHA).
