Question Explanation

Text Explanation

We have :

x2xyx=22(1)x^2 - xy - x = 22 \quad (1)

And y2xy+y=34(2)y^2 - xy + y = 34 \quad (2)

Adding (1) and (2)

we get x22xy+y2x+y=56x^2 - 2xy + y^2 - x + y = 56

we get (xy)2(xy)=56(x - y)^2 - (x - y) = 56

Let (xy)=t(x - y) = t

we get t2t=56t^2 - t = 56

t2t56=0t^2 - t - 56 = 0

(t8)(t+7)=0(t - 8)(t + 7) = 0

so t=8t = 8

so xy=8x - y = 8
