The number of integers that satisfy the equality (x25x+7)x+1(x^{2} - 5x + 7)^{x + 1} = 1 is

A
5
B
4
C
3
D
2

Question Explanation

Text Explanation

(x25x+7)x+1=1(x^2 - 5x + 7)^{x + 1} = 1

There can be a solution when

(x25x+7)=1(x^2 - 5x + 7) = 1 or

x25x+6=0x^2 - 5x + 6 = 0

or x=3x = 3 and x=2x = 2

There can also be a solution when x+1=0x + 1 = 0 or x=1x = -1

Hence three possible solutions exist.
