No major syllabus change has been announced for CAT 2026. The exam continues to cover VARC, DILR, and QA. In CAT 2024, the DILR section saw an increase from 20 to 22 questions, and a similar pattern is expected to continue.
CAT 2026 is a 120-minute computer-based test with 68 questions divided across three sections – VARC (24), DILR (22), and QA (22). Each section has a 40-minute time limit.
Coachify and others are among the commonly used platforms. Free resources including mock tests and daily targets are available on most of these platforms.
Previous year CAT papers, sectional mock tests, a CAT formula book, and daily practice on platforms like Coachify are widely recommended resources for CAT 2026 preparation.
Registration is done on the official website iimcat.ac.in. An account is created with a valid email and mobile number, after which the form is filled, documents are uploaded, and the fee is paid online.
CAT 2026 will be held across 150+ cities. Major centers include Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, and Ahmedabad, among others.
The CAT 2026 admit card is expected to be released in the last week of October 2026. It can be downloaded from iimcat.ac.in using login credentials.
The registration fee for General and OBC candidates is Rs. 2400. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the fee is Rs. 1200.
